该课程旨在：分析如何将法律作为服务使用者和社工的保护和压迫框架，审查支撑香港法律制度的法律原则、制度和程序，了解法律在儿童福利、刑事司法、家庭暴力、监护、心理健康和反歧视等各种环境下对社会工作实践的影响，审查社工的法律义务、道德和义务，如疏忽、照管责任、保密和知情同意等，培养学生处理的能力。
